Though small, the Jezera Marina offers quality services and is also priviledged by its position so close to one of Croatia's most prized natural possesions: the Kornati Archipelago. Apart from the sunny weather and clean water, you can enjoy the idyllic and quiet life of Murter island.
Location & Approach Safely tucked away in a bay on the eastern side of the island of Murter, the Marina Jezera is a small but classy place which offers guests lots of sunshine, clear waters and clean beaches. The town of Jezera was named thusly after the numerous lakes in the region which are left by rain in the karst relief, but don’t worry, there’s no rain in summer here. The marina received the famous Blue Flag in 2000 for special efforts made to preserve the environmental impact.
The ACI Marina Jezera is located in the southern part of the Jezera Bay. This bay has an almost perfect horseshoe shape, which is why a breakwater was placed on the eastern side at the mouth of the bay, to minimize the effect of the currents and winds, though the region of the central Adriatic is known to regulars for its atmospheric calm during the summer.
The coordinates of the marina are 43°47,1’ N 15° 39,2’ E and it’s worth mentioning that it’s open all year round, a testament to the fact that sailing is always on the agenda here. The approach can be made from either side of Skoljic Island where sea depth varies between 7m (south side) and 15m (north side). The landmark to look out for is the lighthouse on the breakwater which marks the entry to the marina. There are no depth hazards here, but the skipper should be careful with the numerous fishing boats entering and exiting the harbor.
Infrastructure & Ambience There are 200 berths on the water and an additional 35 places on land in the ACI Marina, the berths all being equipped with water and power supply. Apart from the reception offices, the marina is also equipped with toilets and showers, boat charter offices, a restaurant, a repair shop which provides service of a 10t crane. There is a gas station present on site, operating from the main pier.
The additional services include a parking lot, an exchange office and a weather forecast service. It’s worth mentioning the sailing school which is based in this marina, the famous Academia Navalis Adriatica, which not only offers sailing course to beginners, but also organizes all sort of regattas and events throughout the year.
The town of Jezera is a quiet, small settlement which fills up during the summer with guests, the rest of the year the population being occupied with farming, agriculture, fishing, olive growing and viticulture. Among the other sights on the island are Tisno, the connecting point to mainland Croatia and the rest of the Adriatic Coast, Betina and Murter.
But most of all, the Jezera Marina is the perfect place for a base to visit the famous and very beautiful Kornati Archipelago islands and National Park. This is one of the main attractions of the central Adriatic, with its many deserted islands and islets it’s a sailor’s paradise. From here, you can also sail to locations in the northern Adriatic, such as Zadar or Biograd.
