Marina Zadar Tankerkomerc - The Marina in the Heart of the City

Location & Approach
Few marinas can boast central positions within a coastal town, but Zadar’s Tankerkomerc marina can do just that. Due to an unique geographical position on the bay that connects the ancient city of Zadar with the rest of the Adriatic coast in Croatia, the marina fits neatly in with the rest of the streets and houses, providing its guests with an unique experience.

Zadar itself is located in the center of the Adriatic coast, in front of the Kornati Archipelago, a famous destination, which is known to many regulars as a great sailing opportunity and a great nature retreat. That, coupled with the medieval sights and towns on land, makes this particular stretch of coast a great sailing attraction.

The location of the marina within the a small bay near the city harbor, makes it perfect for the protection of the mooring boats as the entry point is narrow enough to keep away most winds and swells. The entry to the bay faces northwest and is marked with a red light on the breakwater that protects it.

Infrastructure & Ambience
Visiting skippers can moor at any of the 300 berths on the water or at any of the 200 boat places on land. All berths have water and electricity supply, but it doesn’t stop there when it comes to services for guests. The admittance is made at the reception office open all year round and the staff will also aid you with mooring you boat, since anchoring within the marina is strictly prohibited.

Among the main facilities offered to sailors are showers, toilets and a Laundromat.  There is an exchange office on the premises, a restaurant, a café/bar and some shops which have a varied offer of nautical equipment. Outside the marina the tourist can find a car park and several restaurants.

Boat facilities include a service station with a 50t travel lift and two hoists (one 6.5t and another of 15t capacity). Repairs on your boat can be done here, starting with engine and electrical work and finishing with body and paint work.

The area is not only a great stop point on your trips along the coastline, but it also has a great number of attractions which make it the perfect place for a few days off the water. tourists can enjoy the famous church of St. Donat in Zadar (a symbol of the city and one of the most representative structure of the Croatian middle ages), a series of museums (the Archeological Museum, Maritime Museum, Art Museum, Natural Sciences Museum).

Around Zadar, you’ll find many national parks, recreation zones that showcase the beautiful Adriatic scenery: Plitvice, Paklenica, Krka and Kornati, to name the most important. Some of them do require some sailing to their location, thus making a nice itinerary for a daytrip.
