Egypt Abu Tig Marina - An Oasis of Pleasure in the Red Sea

Envisioned by an Italian architect, built from the sands of the Sahara and bordering the calm waters of the Red Sea, Abut Tig is definitely worth a visit when coming to Egypt. Located near the premier resort of El Gouna, it offers the best services to boatmen eager to travel to this ancient land.

Location & Approach
Abu Tig marina is part of an exciting project to revitalize the industry in Egypt. It’s a man-made town located near the resort of El Gouna, by the Red Sea shores, south of the Suez. It was designed by the Italian architect Alfredo Freda and it’s the pride of the Egyptian sailing community.

The entrance to the marina is marked by a channel 3.6m in depth with a flat bottom. The channel is 400m long and 40m wide, thus enabling access even to the largest yachts. Four pairs of lateral beacons mark the edges, red on the port side and green on the starboard side as you enter the marina. These lights flash at 5 seconds intervals warning skippers entering the marina.

Infrastructure & Ambience
The bulk of the marina is made up of the 117 berths which are located Mediterranean style, stern to mooring. All of these have power and water supply which is metered so you know exactly what your consumption is at any time. Also, the berths come with modern accessories such as international telephone and fax connection, internet access (WiFi) and even cable TV. Especially important for crews is the waste water pump out facility.

The marina provides further services to its clients such as 24 hours/day security, jet wash for the yachts, toilets and showers, a slipway and launch ramp, a lift for boats up to 16m in length and 1.8m draft and many more. Across the marina you can find shops and supplies, a launderette as well as entertainment facilities.

There are long stretches of beach on either side of the marina and the premium resort of El Gouna is very close and able to provide the best in entertainment, cuisine and leisure activities. Abu Tig is the perfect place to set up your base for exploring the Red Sea and the entire Egyptian coastline.

There are numerous lagoons and natural parks perfect for day trips, as well as activities inland (visits to native Tuareg tribes being among the most preferred by guests). With awards-winning architecture, first class services and a lovely setting by the calm waters of the Red Sea, Abu Tig features among the best marinas in this part of the world.
