This perfectly located marina offers only 90 berths to its charter guests which means utter relaxation for those who decide to stay here.
Location & Approach Located in the lovely stretch of beach in Italy that bears the name Costa Smeralda thanks to the color of the water here, Cannigione is a small harbor in the northeast of Sardinia, which is located safely in a bay called Gulf of Arzachena, overlooking the La Maddalena group of islands which posses a significant potential.
The other reason why it’s so popular among crowds is the more reasonable pricing when compared to other marinas on the Costa Smeralda, which is considered a sort of French Riviera in Italy.
The marina is nothing more than a series of floating pontoons which are protected from sea currents by a large L-shaped breakwater facing the interior of the bay, although mooring is also possible on the outer part of the breakwater. In order to check in, the skipper should contact the marina office on VHF channel 9.
The approach is hazard-free, with no significant obstacles, be they underwater or visible. The only time when an approach is made difficult is when there are strong winds blowing from the north, also affecting the berthing maneuvers. The coordinates for sailors are 41° 6' 21", 9° 26' 21". Although crowded in the summer months, please keep in mind that in December and January, the marina is closed.
Infrastructure & Ambience The floating pontoons in the marina and the berths along the breakwater amount to 400 berthing places in the marina, for boats up to 30m in the length and a draft of 3m. This affords access to most types of boast looking to sail the shores of Sardinia or even make a trip to Corsica.
On the piers there are electricity (220V/380V) and fresh water connections for every berth, as well as toilets and showers for clients. The marina also comes equipped with a boat yard that offers the usage of a slipway, a 25t crane and some engine and electrical repairs service along with diver service. A fuel station can be found in the marina as well.
Just 25km from Olbia airport, the small city of Cannigione does present some touristic potential, with the historical remains of the Nuraghich culture which are present throughout the region. Please note that the countryside is worth visiting too and will surely live an impression on the visitor with its seemingly timeless appearance.
