With over 900 berths, the marina of Real Club Nautico is the biggest yacht port of Palma. Its most famous member is the king of Spain – his majesty Juan Carlos!
Location & Approach There are many marinas in Mallorca’s Palma Bay, on the famous Paseig Maritimo, or the sea front, that stretch on for kilometers on either side, so it’s really easy for skippers to find a mooring place when arriving in the Balearics, a virtual sailing Mecca of the western Mediterranean.
Out of the long sea front, one of the most coveted places is the space that is closest to the old town in Palma, regarded as the main attraction point for sailors and tourists alike. In that respect, the Marina Real Club Nautico is the most privileged, as it lies the closest to the historical center. Also, it’s one of the bigger capacity marinas in the Palma Bay.
It’s located on the north shore of the bay and it also happens to be one of the oldest and the most well established marinas on the water front. The exact location is on the following coordinates: 39° 33' N, 02° 38' E. If you arrive in town and have trouble finding it, just ask the locals to point you in the direction of the Darsena San Pedro. Here, you’ll recognize the marina because it’s protected by the eastern breakwater, also known to regulars as Dique de Levante.
Infrastructure & Ambience It’s hard to think that you won’t find a mooring place even during the summer months, since there are over 990 berths here, for vessels up to 40m in length and with a maximum draft of 4.5 meters. Each berth is equipped with the basic services offered at any marina around the world (water and electricity connections) plus a lot of extra services aimed at making your stay very comfortable and your experience in Palma unforgettable.
The shipyard here offers comprehensive services with the aid of a 65t travel lift, a ramp, a 9t crane, a service station and a gas station. Between the m, there’s no repair job that’s too big or too complicated. Rest assured that your boat is in safe hands.
There are also supplementary services available for the guest, such as waste and bilge collection, a bar and restaurant, Wi Fi connection, car rental services, a market for provisioning, weather info service, a laundry, dressing rooms with showers and toilets, security, and harbor master.
But the marina is made famous not by these conditions and services but by its old yacht club which organizes one of the most prestigious regattas of the Balearics, the Copa del Rey (King’s Cup) which takes place in August every year and attracts many prominent figures in the circuit and the sporting yacht world.
