Regarding its beauty, the marina doesn’t fall short of its surroundings at all. Charter guests who plan to start a sailing trip across the Caribbean from here willingly delay saying good-bye for a little while.
Location & Approach Rodney Bay is one of the most picturesque places in Saint Lucia and definitely one worth sailing to, since it offers not only breathtaking sceneries but also lots of anchoring possibilities near the beautiful Pigeon Island, not to mention the marina which caters to many seamen.
The bay is located in the northwestern part of the Caribbean island and the Rodney Bay marina itself can be found at the eastern end of the lagoon which is connected to the bay by a narrow channel. Despite this fact, the approach to the marina poses no dangers. The coordinates for the marina are 14°04.6 N, 60°57 W, and it’s the safest place a skipper can moor, since the lagoon is man-made and it actually sits inland.
Infrastructure & Ambience This is the largest marina in Saint Lucia with its 232 berths that can accommodate vessels of a maximum length of 60m and a maximum draft of 4m. The channel leading to the marina is also dredged to a depth of about 4m so bigger boats to be cautious.
Being an official port of entry, the marina boasts a complete series of services, but also has a pretty complete boatyard where a series of repairs can be carried out. The boatyard is equipped with a 50t travel lift, dry docks that can house up to 50 boats and minor repairs shops.
The main services include fresh (but not drinkable) water and 220V electricity connections, toilets and showers coupled with a laundry service, internet and cable TV access. Additional service constitute several restaurants, a bakery, boutiques, a duty-free chandlery, a supermarket, a bank, a customs service and a car rental.
All in all, the Rodney Bay marina pretty much covers all your needs and also tempts you with a privileged position within the lagoon that is close enough to many attractions and amenities on land.
